Job Summary

Distech Controls is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist, who can distill features and benefits from our evolving suite of products and solutions, and actively participate in the marketing and communications team by expressing our message and story through print and electronic materials. 

You possess a flair for writing, a keen understanding of successful communication strategies and are looking for a challenging, multifaceted role in which you’ll be called upon to be both a leader and a doer.

Description of responsibilities

Product Releases:

  • Complete the product release checklist and ensure all identified actions are delivered on time and on budget
  • Analyse business case and documentation, and work with Product Management to develop the Product Release Notice
  • Complete product release communications to Partners (3 phases)
  • Propose related promotional tools for new products, addressing varied target audiences
  • Contribute to the product promotional plan, collaborate with other members of the marketing team to ensure cohesive and integrated communication initiatives
  • Identify advertising placements, and propose creative/ campaign concepts

 

Website:

  • Create and update content to be posted on our website

Newsletters:

  • In collaboration with the Communications Specialist – Public Relations, assemble content and produce monthly Partner Bulletin, quarterly Consulting Engineer Bulletin, and quarterly “End User” Bulletin

Campaign Management:

  • Participate in campaign brainstorms and creation processes
  • Identify advertising placements
  • Track and analyze the success of campaigns and other marketing initiatives

Promotional Materials:

  • Identify requirements for marketing collaterals and promotional tools
  • Write and create layout for brochures, PowerPoint, website content and other promotional tools 
  • Write and create layout for email promotional material
  • Gather, analyze and summarize information from internal departments (product management, sales and others) and from partners
  • Research and analyze information for specific markets or audiences, to create or coordinate creation of relevant promotional materials or other communication tools
  • Coordinate work with design firm, printer, translators, or other third parties

Other:

  • Act as a subject matter expert as required on corporate projects that involve any of the general or specific responsibilities shown or as directed by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to ensure cohesive and integrated communication initiatives
  • Maintain communication with, and collaborate with, other Distech Controls offices and Partners to ensure consistent messaging, branding and coordinated efforts and releases worldwide.

Requirements

Qualifications - Required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • bachelors in marketing, communications or other equivalent
  • Experience preparing and sending subscription email communications via mass email software (MailChimp or other)
  • Excellent English communication skills – equivalent to TOEFL High/Good performance levels in all categories. 
  • French required
  • Multilingualism is an asset: French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic
