Job Summary

 

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Products & Marketing, and in collaboration with the sales, product management, customer service and marketing teams, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the field device programme offered to the Distech Controls channel.

 

This individual shall provide leadership for the field device programme and its reseources.

 

This individual shall be responsible for the year on year growth of the programme, the continuous development of product offering to satisfy customer requirements and collaborating with product management and sales to assure that the offering remains competitive.

 

Description of responsibilities

 

Field Devices products and solutions include but are not limited to:

 

Valves, Actuators, Discrete Thermostats, Discrete Sensors (Temperature, humidity, pressure, current, voltage, etc…), Variable Frequency Drives, Transformers, Power Supplies, Relays, Control Dampers, Control Panels, Access Control and CCTV peripherals (not including Tridium controllers and software), Infrastructure products, Wire and Cable, Energy Metering and Monitoring solutions and miscellaneous field deviceproducts and solutions.

 

Field deviceproducts and solutions do not include:

ECx-STAT(s), ECx-Light, EC-Net Security, EC-Net, ECB, ECL, ECC and ECP controllers, EC-Smart-Vue, EC-Sensors, ECW-Sensors, Distech Controls Software, and EC-Net EnerVue.

 

Main Duties

  • Monitor performance and mentor all field device sales associates.
  • Assure field device programme is meeting quantitative targets as set jointly with the Americas sales leader(s)
  • Maintain gross margin targets within the programme on field device products and solutions sold.
  • Work with Regional Sales Managers and Product Management to identify field device products and solutions needs and associated pricing and delivery structure necessary to be a competitive player in the market.
  • Work with Marketing team to create promotion programs to deliver sales targets.
  • Introduction of Metrics to properaly monitor the qualitative output from the team.
  • Identify ways to improve customer satisfaction though a deliver of innovative solutions and services.
  • Work with Owner of Distech Controls SmartStore to market and manage field device products and solutions offering.
  • Regularly visit with channel customers in order to identify product of service gaps.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Hold a Building System Engineering College degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in sales with two years of successful sales experience in a building environment related business selling products and services (HVAC and/or electrical products).
  • Polished managerial skills.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC Controls industry.
  • Must be fluent (spoken and written) in English.
  • Must be fluent (spoken and written) in French.
  • Must be available travelling.  30% of time.
